POLICE REFORM: ORGANIZATIONAL IMPROVEMENT AND MANAGEMENT

The objectives of this research were as follows: 1) to analyze the existing organizational structure, service marketing mix (7P’s), external environment, task environment and good governance principle affecting the operational aspect of the police reform. 2) to create direction procedures for the reform towards improving the operational management and structure in order to become modern police organization using qualitative methodology. Samples used in the study included police executives in charge of policy making both national and local levels. The information collected were secondary data using in-depth interview and focus groups. Content analysis and historical approach were used accordingly. The research findings revealed that 1) organizational structure., 2) service marketing mix (7P’s)., 3) External environment in terms of politics and technology 4) task environment in terms of citizen group, magnate of policy making group, police executives group and government group and 5) good governance principle, all the above are significant elements gearing towards effectiveness of improving the operational management and structure in order to become modern police.
