Role of Local Administrative Organizations in Promoting Employment of the Elderly in Nakhon Phanom Province

Abstract
The objectives of this research were 1) to study the role of local government organizations in promoting employment of the elderly in Nakhon Phanom Province, to study problems and obstacles of local government organizations in promoting employment of the elderly, and to study suggestions for promoting the role of local government
organizations in promoting employment of the elderly. This research was qualitative. Key informants were executives and personnel of local government organizations in Nakhon Phanom Province, total of 24 people by purposive selection. The tool collection was a questionnaire by in-depth interview. Data were analyzed by descriptive summary.
The results found that
1) the role of local government organizations in promoting employment of the elderly in Nakhon Phanom Province on the establishment of training and career development center administrative resources were supported, seeking cooperation partners, occupational training had to educate teaching professional skills, taking a study tour, occupational skills development plans, projects and skills development activities were prepared, giving advice support for the establishment of professional groups, being a foster caregiver recruitment, built partnerships with employers, finding a job to do at home, funding support, supporting funding sources for various projects and activities and creating marketing channels, marketing knowledge and providing a market for product distribution.
2) the role of local government organizations in promoting employment of the elderly in Nakhon Phanom Province found that there was a limited budget. There were many tasks, insufficient personnel, lacked of knowledge, and the leaders, giving little importance, lacked of follow-up, not much cooperation. The elderly were not aware of the importance of work.
3) the suggestions for promoting the role of local government organizations in promoting employment of the elderly in Nakhon Phanom Province, namely: leaders should pay attention to the progress towards an aging society and the development of aging work. There should be training for personnel at all levels to have a body of knowledge and understood the role and there should be amendments to relevant laws, rules and regulations to be conducive to the mission. and to reduce limitations in work.
