Development Strategy for Preachers of Church of Christ in Northeast

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the present and the desirable conditions of the preachers in Church of Christ in the Northeast, and 2) to develop the strategy to build up preachers in the Church of Christ in the Northeast.  Mixed-method was used in this research.  The qualitative method was used with selected group comprising Bible School directors of three Bible Schools while the quantitative method used 144 church members.


          The results were as follows:


  1. In all, the current practice found moderate.  Considering each individual aspect, the highest was the desirable preacher qualifications attuned to Apostle Paul’s requirements, followed by religious training and secular training respectively

  2. with regard to the desirable condition, the highest was religious training, follow by desirable preacher qualifications attuned to Apostle Paul’s requirements and secular training respectively.

  3. As for development of the strategy for preachers of Church of Christ in the Northeast, four strategies were developed. 1) Urgently development of secular training for the preachers.  2) Developing servant leadership for the preachers adopting Jesus’ model.  3) Developing religious training for the preachers and 4) Developing the preacher’s desirable qualifications that are required by Apostle Paul.
