A Comparison of Learning Achievement of Analytical Reading and Satisfaction of Pratomsuksa 3 students between Organization Learning Activities of BBL and of 4 MAT

Abstract

In organization of Thai learning activities, a large number of students still lack analytical
reading. Therefore, the researcher organized Thai learning activities to develop analytical
reading of Prathomsueksa 3 students using organization Learning activities of BBL and of 4
MAT. This research aimed to : (1) find out efficiencies of the plans for organization of Thai
learning in analytical reading for Prathomsueksa 3 students using organization learning activities
of BBL and of 4 MAT with a required efficiency of 80/80, (2) to compare learning achievement
in analytical reading of Prathomsueksa 3 students between before and after using organization
learning activities of BBL and of 4 MAT, and (3) to compare satisfaction of Prathomsueksa 3
students between the group that learned using organization Learning activities of BBL and of
4 MAT. The sample used in research consisted of two groups of 36 Prathomsueksa 3 students
18 students each, at Ban Saesabow School under the Office of Sisaket Educational Service
Area Zone 3, in the academic year 2012, obtained using the cluster sampling technique.
Three types of the instruments used in the research were : (1) two types of the plans for
organization of learning, 6 plans each, each plan taught for 2 hours, (2) an achievement test
on divided into was a 20- item 3 choice test with difficulties ranging 0.47-0.76 subjective test
with discriminating powers ranging 0.34-0.71 and a reliability of 0.89. (3) a 15-item 3-rating–
scale inventory on satisfaction with discriminating powers (rxy) ranging 0.42-0.68 and a
reliability of 0.88. The statistics used for analyzing data were percentage, mean, standard
deviation ; and t-test (Dependent Samples and Independent Samples) were employed for
testing hypotheses.
The results of the research were as follows:
1. The plans for organization of Thai learning in analytical Reading using organization
learning activities of BBL and of 4 MAT had efficiencies of 86.30/86.11 and 84.70/84.44
respectively.
2. The students who learned using the organization learning activities of BBL and
of 4 MAT had analytical reading achievement after learning than before learning the two
methods.
3. The students who learned using the organization learning activities of BBL and
of 4 MAT did not show different analytical reading abilities, satisfaction towards learning.
