Abstract
The purposes of this research were: 1) to investigate and analyzing the basic
data for development of learning method for develop Mathematical skills and processes
of Mathayomsuksa 5 Students, 2) to develop and assess of learning method by mixing
Polya concept and cooperative learning for develop Mathematical skills and processes
of Mathayomsuksa 5 Students, 3) to pilot or try out the learning method by mixing
Polya concept and cooperative learning for develop Mathematical skills and processes
of Mathayomsuksa 5 Students, and 4) to assess the use of learning method by
mixing Polya concept and cooperative learning for develop Mathematical skills and
processes of Mathayomsuksa 5 Students. There were four research and development
processes. The samples were from one class of 43 Matthayomsuksa 5 students
studying at Phayakkhaphumwitthayakhan School, Phayakkhaphumphisai District,
Mahasarakham Province in the second semester of academic year 2013, selected
through cluster random sampling technique. The statistics used for analyzing the
collected data were percentage, mean, standard deviation, Hotelling’s T2 and
Univariate.
The results of the study revealed that: 1. Mathematical skills and processes
of the students was at the low level, 2. The learning method by mixing Polya concept
and cooperative learning for develop Mathematical skills and processes of
Mathayomsuksa 5 students consisted of 5 components: 1) the principle , 2) purposes,
3) essences and contents, 4) teaching–learning processes, and 5) measurement and
evaluation by using cooperative learning and Polya problem solving processes, 3. The
efficiency of learning method by mixing Polya concept and cooperative learning was
79.95/77.26 which was higher than the required standard criterion of 75/75, The
students learned by the learning method by mixing Polya concept and cooperative
learning had mathematical skill problem solving ability, mathematical skill reasoning
ability, mathematical skill communications and presentations ability before and after
learning both in overall and each aspect with statistically significant difference at the
.01 level by had mean after learning higher than before learning in three aspects, 4.
The satisfaction of the students toward the learning method by mixing Polya concept
and cooperative learning for develop Mathematical skills and processes in overall
was at the highest level.
