Abstract
The purposes of this study were to examine the factors related to teacher
performance in accordance with standards of professional ethics in Nongbualamphu
province and to create predictive equations of teacher performance in accordance with
standards of professional ethics in Nongbualamphu province. The sample consisted of
351 teachers in Nongbualamphu province. Two types of the instruments used in this
study were: inventories on factors related to teacher performance in accordance with
standards of professional ethics and a questionnaire on factors related to teacher
performance in accordance with standards of professional ethics. The statistics used for
analyzing data were stepwise multiple regression analysis.
The results of the study were as follows:
1. All of the predictive variables were positively related at the .01 level of
significance with correlation coefficients ranging .232-.674. The predictive variables with
the highest relationship with each other were personalities of being teachers (X5), and
human-relationship (X6) with a correlation coefficient of .674, whereas the predictive
variables with the lowest negative relationship with each other were motivation in
working (X1) and attitudes towards teacher profession (X2) with a correlation coefficient
of .232.
2. The variables which could predict teacher performance in accordance
with standards of professional ethics in Nongbualamphu province included :
commitments with school (X3), human-relationship (X6), personalities of being teachers
(X5), motivation in working (X1), self-development (X4) and attitudes towards teacher
profession (X2). The predictive equations could be constructed in raw-score and
standard-score forms as below.
The predictive equation in a raw-score form :
= .940 + .229X3 + .161X6 + .150X5 + .097X1 + .072X4+ .078X2
The predictive equation in a standard-score form :
/y
Ζ = .281Zx3+ .199Zx6+.184Zx5+.155Zx1+.104Zx4 +.087Zx2
