Main Article Content
Abstract
The purposes of this study were 1) study the relationship between some factors were
Self-directed learning attitude Self-discipline Future orientation and Learning environment
affecting students’ self-directed learning readiness 8 available were Openness to learning
opportunities Self concept as an effective learner Initiative and independence in learning
Informed acceptance of responsibility for one’s own learning Love of learning Creativity
Positive orientation to the future and Ability to use basic study skills and problem-solving
skills. 2) to identify beta weights of each factor contributed self-directed learning readiness
8 Available. And 3) to comparison self-directed learning readiness 8 Available of the frst-year
students and the fourth-year students. The sample used in this study consist were the
frst-year students and the fourth-year students in the second semester of the academic year
2010, obtained using the two – stage random sampling technique, 197 from the frst-year
students and 198 from the fourth-year students in Suan Dusit Rajabhat University.
The instrument were the questionnaires of some factors were Self-directed learning attitude
Self-discipline Future orientation and Learning environment whit self-directed learning
readiness 8 available. The statistics used for analyzing data were Multivariate Multiple
Regression Analysis : MMR) and profle analysis
The results of the study revealed the following :
1. The multiple correlations coeffcient between some factors and self - directed
learning readiness 8 available of frst-year students were .521, .576, .597, .543, .577, .513, .598
and .548 respectively; and of forth-year students were .481, .512, .589, .474, .487, .472, .477
and .557, respectively, with statistical signifcance at the level of .01
2. The beta weight of some factors contributed to self-directed learning readiness
available were as follows :
2.1 Self-directed learning attitude of frst-year students affecting contributed
positively to Self-directed learning readiness Love of learning and Positive orientation to
the future with statistical signifcance at the level of .01. Self-directed learning attitude of
fourth-year students affecting contributed positively to Self-directed learning readiness
Openness to learning opportunities, Self concept as an effective learner, Love of learning,
Creativity, Positive orientation to the future with statistical signifcance at the level of .05
and Informed acceptance of responsibility for one’s own learning, Ability to use basic study
skills and problem-solving skills with statistical signifcance at the level of .05
2.2 Self-discipline of frst-year students affecting contributed positively to
Self-directed learning readiness Openness to learning opportunities and Initiative and
independence in learning with statistical signifcance at the level of .05. And Informed
acceptance of responsibility for one’s own learning, Love of learning and Positive orientation
to the future with statistical signifcance at the level of .01. Self-discipline of fourth-year
students affecting contributed positively to Openness to learning opportunities Love of
learning and Positive orientation to the future with statistical signifcance at the level of .01.
And Initiative and independence in learning with statistical signifcance at the level of .05.
2.3 Future orientation of frst-year students affecting contributed positively to
Self-directed learning readiness Initiative and independence in learning, Self concept as an
effective learner, Creativity, Ability to use basic study skills and problem-solving skills with
statistical signifcance at the level of .01. Openness to learning opportunities and Informed
acceptance of responsibility for one’s own learning with statistical signifcance at the level
of .05. Future orientation of fourth-year students affecting contributed positively to Self
concept as an effective learner, Initiative and independence in learning, Informed acceptanc
of responsibility for one’s own learning, Creativity, Ability to use basic study skills and
problem-solving skills with statistical signifcance at the level of .01 And Openness to learning
opportunities with statistical signifcance at the level of .05
2.4 Learning environment of frst-year students affecting Self-directed learning
readiness 8 available with statistically non signifcance. Learning environment of fourth-year
students affecting Self-directed learning readiness Initiative and independence in learning
negatively contributed with statistical signifcance at the level of .05.
3. The fourth-year students had self-directed learning readiness 8 available higher
than frst-year students with statistically signifcance at the level of .01.
