AN ENHANCEMENT MODEL OF LEARNING RESOURCES FOR ART AND CULTURAL PRESERVATION BASED ON THE APPLICATION OF BUDDHIST PRINCIPLES IN THE LOCAL CONTEXT OF UBON RATCHATHANI PROVINCE

Abstract

This study employed a Mixed Methods Research design with the objectives to: (1) investigate the level of problems and needs regarding the enhancement of learning resources for art and cultural preservation in Ubon Ratchathani Province; (2) develop an enhancement model based on the application of Buddhist principles; and (3) evaluate the suitability and feasibility of the developed model. The research methodology consisted of three phases. Phase 1 (Quantitative): Investigated the current state and needs using a stratified random sampling of 400 participants, including community members, leaders, and teachers. The instrument was a rating-scale questionnaire, and data were analyzed using Mean and Standard Deviation. Phase 2 (Qualitative): Drafted the model through in-depth interviews with 20 key informants, including local scholars, Buddhist monks, and cultural experts. Data were analyzed using content analysis. Phase 3 (Model Validation): Verified the model via focus group discussions with 10 experts to assess its suitability.

          The findings were as follows: 1.The overall state of problems in art and cultural preservation was at a high level (x=4.21), particularly regarding the lack of knowledge management systems and insufficient budget. The need for community participation was at the highest level 2.The developed enhancement model (B-Ubon Model) consists of five key components: (1) Buddhist-integrated Objectives, (2) Driving Buddhist Principles (Iddhipada IV and Sangahavatthu IV), (3) "Bavor" (Home, Temple, School) Participation Process, (4) Conditions for Success, and (5) Monitoring and Evaluation Systems 3.The evaluation of the model indicated that its suitability and feasibility for implementation were at the highest level (X= 4.55), suggesting it can serve as a sustainable guideline for developing local learning resources.
