AN ANALYSIS OF THE BODY KNOWLEDGE AND GUIDELINES FOR DEVELOPMENT OF ELDER MONKS AND LOCAL LEADER IN CHAIYAPHUM PROVINCE

Abstract

This research article has the objectives 1) to study the history of the Maha Thera and local scholars in Chaiyaphum Province, 2) to analyze the roles of the Maha Thera and local scholars in Chaiyaphum Province, and 3) to study and analyze the knowledge and practices in community development of the Maha Thera and local scholars in Chaiyaphum Province. It is a qualitative research by searching for primary data from a survey through field interviews.

The research results found that The history of the great monks and local scholars of Chaiyaphum Province. Luang Pu Lak Kham was a wandering monk from Lopburi Province. He was a monk who was strict in his ascetic practices. Phra Thammaphawanawachirakhun Wi. (Bunma Punyaphirato) was a monk with good conduct, full of kindness that supports the world. Phraya Phakdi Chumphon (Lae), the first governor of Chaiyaphum, was honest and made sacrifices for the city of Chaiyaphum.

          The role of the great monks and local scholars in Chaiyaphum Province, Luang Pu Lak Kham, the strict practice of monks who are good practitioners in the form of keeping the precepts, restraint of body and speech, Phra Dhamma Bhavanavachirakhun, the role of developing the mind, training monks and novices to have monastic vows and ethics, the role of Chao Pho Phaya Lae in community development, in terms of mental development, there is a ceremony to worship the spirit of Chao Pho Phaya Lae, creating morale for the community.

Knowledge and practices in community development of the great monks and local philosophers in Chaiyaphum Province. Luang Pu Lak Kham lets the community practice the Five Precepts, emphasizing kindness and helping people in difficulty. Phra Dhammaphawanawachirakhun promotes knowledge of the sufficiency economy, moderation in spending, and developing wisdom by practicing Dhamma and being mindful. 4) Chaopho Phaya Lae is a clever ruler who is a good example for community leaders. He is willing to sacrifice and is loyal to the country, creating unity in the community. He is clever, quick-witted, and gentle.
