The Desire to Continue Studying in Undergraduate, the Bachelor of Arts, Majoring in Security Management (New Curriculum 2024), Faculty of Public Administration, Nakhonratchasima College

Abstract

The research purposes were to study:  1)  the expectations of graduates from the Bachelor of Arts program,  majoring  in  Security Management,     2)  the desire to continue studying in the Bachelor of Arts program, majoring in Security Management,  and  3)  the factors affecting the decision to study in Bachelor of Arts program,  majoring in Security Management.  This was the mixed research method. The population was the 385 high school students and government and private sector personnel expected to study at the bachelor’s degree in Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima District,  Nakhon Ratchasima Province.  The sample groups were 196.  The key informants were  40 government agency personnel, entrepreneurs, high school students or parents, general people, and the program teachers.  The research instruments were the questionnaires and the structured  interview formats.  The data analysis statistics were the mean, percentage, standard deviation, and content analysis.

The research findings were:

1.The expectations of graduates from the Bachelor of  Arts program, majoring in Security Management are that most graduates have knowledge in security management, being able to use the knowledge to benefit the work and the organization efficiently with morality, ethics, honesty, responsibility, following regulations, having leadership, daring to decide and doing right and righteous things.

2.The desire to continue studying in the program is to continue studying at the bachelor’s degree level.  The graduation can be used for promotion and increasing salary.

3.The factors affecting the decision to study in the program are that the teachers are competent, the curriculum meets market needs, the classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays  and  the fees are reasonable
