Guidelines for the management of temples in mueang chaiyaphum district chaiyaphum province according to Buddhism

Abstract

Three objectives of the study were as follows:   1)  to study ideas, theories and conditions of the management of the temples in Chaiyaphum Province,  2)  to study the management of temples according to Buddhism, and  3)  to present the guidelines for the management of temples in Mueang Chaiyaphum District according to Buddhism by collecting information from interviewing 20 abbots in Mueang Chaiyaphum District, Chaiyaphum Province, 10 ruling monks of the province, districts and subdistricts and 10 related people.

The results of the research found that the study of ideas, the theories and the conditions of the management of the temples in Chaiyaphum Province is in the form of propagating Buddhism and applying the principles of Dhamma and managing temples according to the period of time.  The management of temples according to Buddhism has to be considered the old principles.  Although the time changes,  Buddhism still has the same principles of the Dhamma.  Thus, the management of the temples in Chaiyaphum Province must use the old principles for further development.  The guidelines for the management of the temples in Mueang Chaiyaphum District according to Buddhism are managed by the principles even in many forms of management as the collected information but do not neglect the old style management, the management of the link of a chain, using the principles of the management according to Buddhism, a traditional form of management.  Although there are so many applications and changes, the traditional forms of the management are studied first, then update and real forms of the management are gradually improved.  Therefore, the abbots of the temples in Mueang Chaiyaphum District, Chaiyaphum Province manage the temples according to the traditional forms and gradually apply  to the period of time as saying the update management of temples with the traditional forms as the basis.
