Abstract

This academic article the objective is to study the application of Buddhist ethics to develop ethical standards of political leaders. Because Thailand has changed from an absolute monarchy with a monarch to be the person with the highest power in governing the land. To become a democratic regime where people will choose the one they see as the best is the most suitable and can enter to maintain their interests as their representative. If a leader lacks ethics, it will cause more damage to the community, society and the nation than the general public. Leadership ethics is therefore one of the important things for the development of Thailand. Therefore, leaders need to have ethical standards of political leaders for the benefit of themselves, others and society at large. Here, the author focuses mainly on the principles of good people who are suitable, should have, should be or should behave.
