Abstract

Abstract

             This article focuses on a mechanism towards cross cultural learning of Thai-Myanmar on the aspects of Thai Studies, Burma Studies and Religious Studies as a tool for learning cross-cultural communications between Thailand and Myanmar. Related research and literature review papers, in-depth interviews and participatory observation were used for the study. The target groups were lectures and students from Thai Studies Curriculum, Yangon University of Foreign Language (YUFL) and from Burma Studies, Naresuan University. Results indicated that Language is an important tool to communicate between each other. The language of Thai, Burmese, religion and culture are common characteristics that contribute to learn from each other leading into the understanding and adapting to the new situation of Thailand – Myanmar cross-cultural learning. It finally leads to the understanding, paying attention and adaptation of including a mechanism of life and working for living together with appropriately.
