The Status and Approaches for Efficiency Development for the Elderly Welfare Services

Abstract
There are 50 district offices of Bangkok metropolitan undertaking elderly welfare services. The research purposes were (1) to study the Bangkok metropolitan services status that exhibit a relation of authority and responsibility, processes and operations, personnel and their service skills development, behaviors and motivations that induce mutual popularity in the organization to provide welfare services to the elderly (2) to study problems and barriers of services and (3) to present solutions to improve efficiency in providing living for the elderly regarding McKinsey 7-S framework which includes structure, strategy, system, skills, staff, style and shared value.
The results show that overall average level of Bangkok metropolitan elderly welfare services was high. The importance and supported concerns in all areas made an efficiency in organization administration. The problems in providing and managing welfare services for the elderly found a lack of coordinating between each associated sectors. It directly causes lower capability in elderly welfare services.
