Main Article Content
Abstract
The purposes of this research were to study and compare the digital competency needs of school administrators and physical education teachers in the Western Provinces, both authenticity and expected skills. A questionnaire containing 25 needs assessment questions was used as a data collection tool to collect 165 samples. Data analysis included sum, percentage, mean, standard deviation,
t- test analysis, and the calculation of the Modified Priority Need Index (PNI modified). The results revealed that the digital competency needs for school administrators and physical education teachers in the western provinces of Thailand can be arranged in descending order of importance as follows: problem solving with digital tools, digital skill/ICT skill, adaptive digital Transformation, and digital literacy. When considering the comparison of the authenticity and expectation needs with “t” test, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference at the 0.05 level. The findings can be used to promote the development of digital competencies for administrators and physical education teachers in order for them to perform their duties effectively. In addition, the results would allow them to adapt themselves to the Next Normal way of life and keep up with the ever-changing era towards sustainably educational transformation and digital education.
