รศ.ดร. สมควร กวียะ นักวิชาการสื่อสารมวลชน ผู้สร้างคุณูปการด้านวิชาการทฤษฎีการสื่อสารแก่วงการนิเทศศาสตร์ และดำรงตำแหน่งภาคีสมาชิก (สาขานิเทศศาสตร์) ราชบัณฑิตยสถาน ประเทศไทย ผู้ที่มีเจตนาอันแน่วแน่ที่จะพัฒนาวิชาการ การสื่อสารสมัยใหม่ เพื่อรับใช้สังคมอนาคตในการพัฒนา บริหาร และการป้องกันแก้ไขวิกฤตโดยเฉพาะการศึกษาด้านการสื่อสารแนวใหม่ที่มีศักยภาพสูงทั้งทางด้านความคิด ทฤษฏี กระบวนทัศน์ เทคนิควิชาการและเทคโนโลยี ทั้งนี้ปี 2556 สถาบัน International Biographical Centre ประเทศ อังกฤษ ได้ยกย่อง รศ.ดร. สมควร กวียะ เป็นผู้นำด้านการศึกษาโลกเพื่อเป็นเกียรติต่อนักวิชาการของประเทศไทยที่ชาวต่างชาติยกย่องและเชิดชูเกียรติด้านการสื่อสารให้ปรากฏสืบต่อไป
