FACTORS INFLUENCING PARENTAL DECISION-MAKING IN THE SELECTION OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION SCHOOLS IN UTTARADIT PROVINCE

Abstract
The purposes of this research were to: 1) examine the level of factors influencing parents’ decision-making in selecting early childhood schools in Uttaradit Province; 2) investigate the relationships among these factors; and 3) analyze the factors affecting such decision-making. This study employed
a quantitative research design. The sample consisted of 342 parents of early childhood students, selected through stratified sampling based on districts. The research instrument was a five-point Likert scale questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.89. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis.
The findings revealed that: 1) the overall level of influencing factors was high, with teacher quality ranking the highest, followed by school reputation and image, cost, location and environment, and curriculum and learning management, respectively; 2) all factors were significantly correlated with parents’ decision-making at the .01 level, with cost, teacher quality, and school reputation showing strong positive correlations, whereas curriculum and learning management showed a negative correlation; and 3) cost, teacher quality, school reputation and image, and curriculum and learning management significantly predicted parents’ decision-making, accounting for 96 percent of the variance.
