Buddhism in the Republic of Korea: History, Development, Social Relation and Current Situation

Abstract

This article is to study the history of Korea,  the Buddhist development, society and the present situations. In additional, this research proposed the method to enhance and strengthen Buddhism in the Republic of Korea in 4 ways i.e. the mediation dimension, the religious place near community dimension, Buddhist culture dimension, and socially engaged Buddhism dimension. In addition, researchers would also propose the Buddhist development for the stability and sustainability by the integration of “B-T-S-G" Project or “Buddhist-Temple-Sangha-Government” Project.
