Health Rights Promotion in Thailand's Three Southern Border Provinces: A Case Study of Labor Market Readiness among Students at Princess of Naradhiwas University

Abstract
This research aimed to 1) examine students' health needs and the promotion of health rights, 2) analyze factors associated with health needs and health rights promotion, and 3) propose guidelines for promoting health rights to prepare students for the labor market in the context of Thailand's three southern border provinces. A survey research design was employed. The sample comprised 351 undergraduate students at Princess of Naradhiwas University during the 2024 academic year, determined using Yamane's formula and selected through stratified random sampling. A questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.975 was used as the research instrument. Results showed that 1) students' overall health needs and health rights promotion were at a high level
(= 4.25, S.D. = 0.605), with both health services (= 4.25, S.D. = 0.646) and health rights promotion (= 4.25, S.D. = 0.618), also rated at high levels. 2) Students from different fields of study differed significantly in their health needs and health rights promotion at the .05 level. 3) Guidelines for health rights promotion should focus on developing equitable access to healthcare, promoting physical and mental well-being, integrating health-rights promotion with vocational skill development, and establishing collaborative networks across sectors to sustainably prepare students for the labor market.
