Grounded Theory on the Good Governance in Leadership: A Case Study of Leaders in Phichai Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang District, Lampang Province

Abstract
This research aimed to compare the similarities and differences between good governance leadership based on the United Nations’ concept and the phenomenon found in the Phichai Subdistrict Administrative Organization, as well as to develop a grounded theory of good governance in leadership. The study employed grounded theory methodology with a total of 41 participants, consisting of 16 key informants and 25 secondary informants. The research tools included in-depth interviews. The data were verified and analyzed using triangulation, and theoretical conclusions were developed by identifying patterns. The research findings revealed that the phenomenon of good governance leadership exhibited three additional aspects beyond the United Nations' concept. The grounded theory concluded that good governance leadership comprises 12 essential characteristics: (1) morality and ethics, (2) transparency and accountability, (3) strategic vision, (4) responsibility, (5) responsiveness, (6) rule of law, (7) equity, (8) decentralization, (9) participation, (10) consensus orientation, (11) efficiency, and (12) effectiveness.
