Abstract

This research aims to examine the operational management, problems, obstacles, and development approaches of the Mae Kue Community Weaving Enterprise. Data were collected from group members, local administrators, and municipal officers through interviews and questionnaires. Qualitative data were analyzed using inductive analysis to synthesize key issues and formulate development guidelines appropriate to the group’s context, while quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including the mean and standard deviation. The findings reveal that the Mae Kue Community Weaving Enterprise was formed through the collective efforts of elderly members who utilize local wisdom as the foundation of production and primarily engage in made-to-order manufacturing. The management structure consists mainly of a chairperson and a treasurer, resulting in limitations in task distribution and participatory management, particularly in the areas of marketing, communication, and financial accounting. In addition, the members’ advanced age and limited technological skills adversely affect the group’s operational efficiency. The proposed development approaches emphasize strengthening product identity, expanding distribution channels, and improving communication systems aligned with the members’ capacities. Further recommendations include clearly defining roles and responsibilities, promoting teamwork, and establishing a simple, systematic accounting system to enhance the group’s potential and achieve long-term sustainability.
