New Generation Back to Hometown: Creating a Network of Local Innovators for Local Hometown Community Development
Main Article Content
Abstract
This This research aims to: (1) study the factors that facilitate the formation of a network of local innovators for Hometown community development; (2) develop a model for establishing such a network; and (3) propose strategies for expanding the network of local innovators to support Hometown community development. This is a mixed-methods study that employed in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and parcipatory activities. Data was collected from 23 key informants and a sample of 20 participants. Data analysis involved qualitative content analysis and quantitative T-tests. The results revealed that internal factors such as gratitude, clear life goals, positive thinking, perseverance, and creativity were crucial for fostering a network of local innovators. External factors included family support, mentorship, knowledge networks, community cooperation, and social capital. The developed network model comprises three main components: strength analysis, implementation, and network building. The motivational activities significantly enhanced participants' self-belief and clarity of goals.
