Still Life Painting Reflecting Crisis Adaptation of Thai People During COVID-19 Pandemic
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research article examines the changes in the lifestyle behaviors of Thai people during the COVID-19 pandemic. The objective is to convey survival methods adapted from information received, combined with local wisdom, through acrylic paintings. This qualitative study involved collecting data from newspapers, articles, books, online media, and television. The research methods included field visits to gather materials, still-life objects, and items related to COVID-19 prevention which were used to create prototypes for the artwork. The findings indicate that everyday objects and knowledge from various sources have been seamlessly integrated into the lifestyle of Thai people reflecting the wisdom gained from personal experiences. This study demonstrates that Thai people are resourceful and resilient, and this resilience should be expressed through art, as it has a psychological impact, evokes memories, and connects people to the challenging times they have faced.
