Quality of Life of Youth Amid Unrest in Three Southern Border Provinces

Abstract

The purpose of this qualitative research is to study the quality of life for youth amid the unrest in the three southern border provinces. The data were collected from in-depth interviews and participant observations, involving the key informants, consisting of 5 groups with a total of 17 participants. The process of examining data through data triangulation involves asking the same questions to different individuals at different times and locations. Subsequently, the data is analyzed to generate summaries and descriptive analyzed reports. The data indicated that the unrest in the three southern border provinces has had an impact on the quality of life of youth in the region for 7 aspects; health and sanitation effects to body, mental health, emotions, consciousness and having good consumption of nutrition, education plays an important role in improving the quality of youth life, working life a mother who used to be a follower must adapt to become a leader and work to support the family, household economy this affects the decreased family financially suddenly, family life the relationship of family will not be the same as ordinary families, living environment resulting in a sense of vulnerability and fear in both life and property aspects, and public sector management there are assistance and healing processes, including peaceful median processes to solve unrest events to is calm again.
