A Survey of Creative Bamboo Products from Basketry Handicraft Community in Yasothon Province

Abstract
The research topic was developed based on a visit to collect data on the cultural capital of Yasothon Province. It was found that the bamboo weaving industry in Yasothon Province faced fundamental issues such as low production capacity and a lack of knowledge management and wisdom inheritance. The objectives of this research were to explore information on bamboo basketry within the basketry handicraft community in Yasothon Province and to identify ways to develop bamboo basketry into creative products. This process involved searching for information, reinterpreting stories to align products with contemporary needs, and ensuring community involvement. This study was conducted based on a participatory action research process, aiming to create collaborative learning in the community to make use of the research results. The target group was 20 bamboo basket makers in the area. The research yielded the following results: In addition to acquiring a database on bamboo basketry, bamboo basketry products, courses, and teaching experiments, a learning resource for bamboo basketry in the community was established, namely the Fah Huan Basketry Museum, Fa Huan Tai Temple, Fa Huan Sub-district, Kho Wang District, Yasothon Province.
