Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the mechanisms and processes of the agencies involved in the implementation of policies related to social welfare provision and the results of implementing policies related to social welfare provision for the equality of the elderly in Khon Kaen Province. It is qualitative research. Data were collected from 12 informants through in-depth interviews and documentary research. The research findings were as follows: 1) There were three levels of mechanisms and processes for agencies involved in implementing policies related to social welfare provision for the equality of the elderly: national, ministry, and local levels. Split responsibilities, a lack of interdepartmental integration, and redundancy were the issues.2) Based on the results of implementing policies related to social welfare for the elderly, it was found that overall operations align with the principle of equality. This includes provisions for health, sanitation, recreation, income, employment, and social and community aspects. The agencies should consider the welfare of the elderly in accordance with social principles and the ability of the elderly.
