Local Wisdomof Traditional Herbs for Health Promotion: A Case Study in Li Watershed, Lamphun Province

Abstract
The objective of this research was to study traditional herbal wisdom for health promotion in Li watershed, Lumphun Province. Mixed methods research is a methodology for conducting research that studied by documentary research, in depth interview and stakeholder group operational seminar. 35 stakeholders were participated. Data were analyzed using analytic methods and content analysis. The results shown that people use traditional herbs for basic health care as a diuretic, antipyretics, anti-diarrheal, against parasitic helminthes, nourish, relieving muscle pain, skill disease and control of insect. The common method of plant medicine preparation was boiling by folk doctor who are the key person of folk treatment. Stakeholders have jointly suggested the conservation of traditional herbal wisdom by encouraging participation in planning activities, learning center base on community activities and knowledge sharing.
