Community Culture and Bringing about Reconciliation in Thai Society Using Culture as Key Instruments

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study the community culture and the psychological characteristics of some Thai people that affect the reconciliation, and to bring about the reconciliation amoung Thais in Uthai Thani province by using local culture as instruments. The study found that the local culture of the community in Uthai Thani province was mainly rice culture. Model of psychological characteristics was consistent with empirical data. (c²= 36.19, df = 58, sig = 0.98901). For the realization of the reconciliation, it was found that the social movements to bring about the reconciliation among Thais by using the culture as instruments consisted of 3 components: 1) Concept about content as rice culture and process as the participation community and community empowerment, 2) How to perform as the development of cooperative, planning, implementing, reflection, conclusion together and 3) Reflection data and operation conclusion.  Results of operations were the act of creating a social movement and enhance the reconciliation of Thais as cultural based in four communities. The results were as follows: 1) Nong Ngulueam community, 2) Taluk Du community 3) Pa Or community and 4) Nuea Ron community. There were four communities that had activities   as charity paddy rice, farming activities thrown, the tradition of making Kwan khao comprehensive bio-organic activity and the establishment of banking organic fertilizer. The results of evaluation of the reconciliation of  Thai society in each community had reconciliation at high level.
