Development of Parent Education SUKDEE Model to Promote Appropriate Child Rearing Knowledge toward Sexuality

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to create the instructional model and to study the effectiveness of the parent education SUKDEE model to promote appropriate knowledge of child rearing that is appropriate to child sex.  Theresearch process hadthreephases. Phase1: Creating the parent education SUKDEE model bysynthesizing of variousresearch papers.Phase2: Investigating of the effectiveness of parent education SUKDEE model. A one group pretest–posttest design was used with 18 parents.Phase3: Extending the results of parent education SUKDEE model with early childhood teachers. The findings of this study were as follows: parent education SUKDEE model consisted of S: Stimulus,U: Understanding, K: Knowledge, D: Doing, E: Self efficacy and E: Empowerment. The findings of the investigation of Parent Education SUKDEE Model included;1) After the experiment, parentshavea better understanding ofparentingtheir children appropriate to their child sex; this was significantly higher than  before the experiment at the .01 level. 2) Parents showed high satisfaction in usingparent education SUKDEE model. 3) Early childhood education teachers who implemented the model reported that the parent education SUKDEE model was very appropriate.
