Activity Patterns Development of Students’ Moral Promotion According to Speeches of His Majesty the King: Case Study of Phang Ngu Pitthayakom School

Abstract

The objectives of this research were (1) to study their practice of the 9 morals precepts of students in Phang Ngu Pittayakom School. (2) to create moral activities of students. (3) to carry out and evaluate moral promotion of students in Phang Ngu Pittayakom School. This study used both quantitative and qualitative methods. The sample for quantitative data was the 250 students at Phang Ngu Pittayakom School. The target group for qualitative data was: administrators, teachers, parents, students and monks. The instruments used for data collection were questionnaire, in-depth interview, and focus group. Quantitative data were analyzed by using percentage and frequency. Analyze qualitative data by using content analysis. The research results showed that (1) the students’ practice of the 9 morals precepts at Phang Ngu Pittayakom School was at the moderate level. (2) Development of moral promotion activities has led to three models; academic activity, religious practical activity, and recreational activity. (3) The students’ practice of the 9 morals precepts at Phang Ngu Pittayakom School was improved after carry out the moral promotion.
