Arabic Vocabulary in 19th Century Malay Medical Manuscripts : The Inheritance of Wisdom and Cultural Capital towards Soft Power

Abstract
This research aims to study Arabic vocabulary found in 19th-century Malay medical manuscripts, which reflect medical wisdom transmitted from the Islamic world to the Malay region. These Malay medical manuscripts are not only sources of therapeutic knowledge but also cultural heritage demonstrating the integration of knowledge and culture from both regions. The vocabulary analysis in this research focuses on understanding the meaning and context of terms appearing in these Malay medical manuscripts, particularly emphasizing the role of vocabulary in promoting and developing medicine in the Malay region. Furthermore, this research examines the value of Malay medical manuscripts as cultural heritage that can be applied to contemporary education and learning for children and youth in the area. The goal is to enhance learning processes based on Malay linguistic capital and cultural heritage.
