Chinese identity from the Chinese Junior high school education moral lesson textbook in China

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the significance of the Chinese Junior high school education moral lesson textbook and also aimed to study the identification and the process of building Chinese identity from the Chinese Junior high school education moral lesson textbook by using documentary research method and using the identity theory. The study found that the important part of Chinese Junior high school education moral lesson textbook consists of structure and content of the textbook, teaching methods and teacher roles. The Chinese identity consist of the Chinese national identity, the Chinese traditional culture identity and the Chinese ethnic identity. The Chinese identity building process has five factors that was granted by education of China through Chinese education development, passed the standard of enhancing identities, through the enhancing characteristic lesson by using a brainstorming ideas method and through the practice of social values that appear in the education. The future research should study on the local identity and study Chinese ethnic identity.
