The Effects of Using a Teachers As Researchers Training Curriculum in Classroom Action Research for English Student Teachers, Thaksin University

Abstract
This study aimed to develop the teacher as researcher training curriculum in classroom action research for English student teachers at Thaksin University. The purposes of the study were 1) to study the English student teachers’ need of the teacher as researcher training curriculum in classroom action research 2) to develop and find out the efficiency of teacher as researcher training curriculum in classroom action research for English student teachers at Thaksin University according to 80/80 3) to study the effectiveness of the teacher as researcher training curriculum in classroom action research for English student teachers at Thaksin University. 4) to study the English student teachers’ opinion towards the training curriculum was at the highest level as a whole. The samples were divided into three groups 1) 3 experts developing the training curriculum. 2) the forty–fourth year English major students who registered for the Case study course in the second semester of 2015 academic year. The instruments employed in this study were a needs analysis questionnaire (, and a pre- and posttest. Questionnaire used to acquire the students’ opinion towards the use of the training curriculum. The results of this study demonstrated that the efficiency of the training curriculum on the step of data collection was 82.05 / 85.89 which higher than the established criteria of 80/80. The effectiveness index of the training model was at 0.8589 which indicated that 85.89 percent of trainees had progressed in their learning. The English student teachers’ opinion towards the training curriculum was at the highest level as a whole. (= 4.89)
