Model of Health Promotion Activity for Body Weight Controlling among Over nutrition Students in Urban area

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to propose model of health promotion activity for body weight controlling among over nutrition students. The study composed of three phases; study the problems, model construction and testing the model. Phase one, the sample consisted of school administrators, teachers, public health personnel, nutritionists, school cookers and parents. The tools of study consisted of a questionnaire, guidelines for in – depth interview and focus group discussion. Phase two, using information from phase one to construct the model, and the model were reviewed by three experts. Phase three, testing for the possibility of the model by using weight and height index. Within three months, the results of the study showed better change in rather obese and obese students, but no change in completely obese students. The study indicated the possibility of the model to be used in controlling obesity among elementary school students, grade four to six.
The model to be proposed consisted of four main activities. 1) Workshop on “obesity controlling of elementary school students, grade four to six” for school administrators, teachers, school cookers students and parents. 2) Parents and teachers prepared a sufficiency of food in terms of calorie and amount for students at home and school 3) Parents and teachers organized good exercise for students at home and school and 4) The students performed those activities daily, record, and submitted the record to parents and school teachers.
