Abstract

This research aims to study how political context, economics context, state security affairs relate to terrorism situation both inside and outside Malaysia affect Malaysian government’s policies towards terrorism, Also, this research focuses on how Malaysian government conducts the process of


anti-terrorism, what they concern and whether all of these processes affect terrorism situation in Malaysia. The research bases on qualitative research according to historical approach. The research found that after 9/11 attacks, Malaysian government has faced a lot of challenges especially in terms of terrorism. Malaysian government perceive this situation as a threat for the world’s stability.


However, the government does not agree with western world leaders who believe that terrorism movements relate to Muslim people. Malaysian government under Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Prime Minister Najib Razak have 2 main policies in order to prevent terrorism. Two main


policies are 1. To issue few state security laws that give authority and power to state security officers 2.To build connections in international level. Thereafter Prime Minister NajibRazakadd a new policy is A Terrorists Rehabilitation Program. It can say that Malaysian government policies which is to prevent


terrorism is effective and can control terrorism situation in the country as well.
