THE MANAGEMENT OF PROVINCIAL STUDENT SPORTS COMPETITION

Abstract

               The objectives of this research were 1) to determine the factors of provincial student sports competition management, and 2) to confirm the factors of provincial student sports competition management.  The research was designed as mixed methodology. Population and samples were 11,552 sports organizations in central region which comprised of Provincial Tourism and Sports Office, Provincial Sports Authority of Thailand, Provincial Sports Association, Sports Clubs, Professional Sports Clubs, and Educational Institutions under Office of the Basic Education Commission, Office of the Private Education Commission, Office of the Vocational Education Commission, and Department of Local Administration.  The sample size was 297 respondents which Taro Yamane‘s table at ± 10 of error.  The instruments used for data collection were questionnaire, opinionaire, and unstructured interview form. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and Exploratory Factor Analysis.

               The findings of this research were revealed that:

               1. There were 8 factors of provincial student sports competition management which as follows; 1) personnel management for provincial student sports competition management, 2) policy and plan for provincial student sports competition management, 3) provincial student sports competition management standardization, 4) making satisfaction of provincial student sports competition management, 5) promoting cooperation among public and private sectors, 6) formulating a system of athletic selection and promoting athletic excellence, 7) promoting equality and sporting attitudes, and 8) budget management.

              The confirmation of 8 factors of provincial student sports competition management were accuracy, propriety, feasibility and utility.
