The purpose of this study were to determine 1) the administrator’s exercise of power under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 6 2) the school effectiveness under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 6 3) the relationship between the administrator’s exercise of power and the school effectiveness under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 6. The sample were 48 schools. The respondents in each school were administrator or representative, assistant administrator or representative and 2 teachers totally 192 respondents. The instrument was a questionnaire about the administrator’s exercise of power based on French and Raven concept and school effectiveness according to Hoy and Miskel’s concept. The statistical analysis were frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation and Pearson’s product – moment correlation coefficient.
The results of this research were as follow:
1. The administrator’s exercise of power under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 6, as a whole and each aspect were at a high level ranking from the highest to the lowest mean: reward power legitimate power coercive power referent power expert power.
2. The school effectiveness under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 6, as a whole and each aspect were at a high level ranking from the highest to the lowest mean: latency adaptation integration goal attainment.
3. The relationship between administrator’s exercise of power and the school effectiveness under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 6 was found at .01 level of statistical significance
