Abstract

               This research aimed to: 1) study the level of transformational leadership of school principal; 2) study the level of the morale and motivation of government teachers; and 3) analyze the transformational leadership of school principal which affecting morale and motivation building of government teacher. The research sample, derived by proportional stratified random sampling as distributed by district, was 297 teacher of government teachers under the Office of Primary Educational Service in Ratchaburi Area 2. The research instrument was a questionnaire constructed by the researcher with content validity between 0.67 and 1.00. The internal consistency reliability coefficients of the questionnaire: transformational leadership of school principal was 0.97 and morale and motivation of government teacher was 0.97. Data were analysed with percentage, mean, standard deviation and stepwise multiple regression.

            The finding of this research were as follows:

  1. Overall and in specific aspects, transformational leadership of school principal was at a high level. These aspects were idealized influence, inspiration motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration, respectively.
  2. Overall and in specific aspects, morale and motivation of government teacher was at a high level. These aspects were welfare and supportive benefits, organizational atmosphere, respect, working conditions, opportunities for progress in profession, and job satisfaction, respectively.
  3. Transformational leadership of school principal in the aspects of idealized influence (X1), inspiration motivation (X2), individualized consideration (X4) and intellectual stimulation (X3)
    together predicted the morale and motivation of government teacher (Ytot) at the percentage of 79.80 with statistical significance at.05.
