TRANSFORMATIONAL FACTORS AND THE DESIRABLE CHARACTERS OF UPRIGHT SCHOOL STUDENTS

The purposes of this research were to identity : 1) the transformational factors in Upright School 2) the desirable characters of Upright School students and 3) the relationship between the transformational factors and the desirable characters of Upright School students. The sample of this research were 138 Upright Schools that the first version and second version under The Secondary Educational Service Area. There were three respondents from each school consisted of administrator or deputy director, head of instructional groups , and teachers, totally 414 respondents. The research instrument was a questionnaire concerning transformational factors on Burke and Litwin’s concept and the desirable characters of Upright School students from Bureau of Educational Development by Office of the Basic Education Commission. The statistical used for analyze the data were frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean. standard deviation, and Pearson’s product-moment correlation coefficient.
The results were found that :
- The transformational factors in Upright School, as a whole and as an individual, were at a high level. Sort by arithmetic mean from descending follows the mission and strategy, organizational culture, leadership, the performance of individuals and organizations and the external environments respectively.
- The desirable characters of Upright School students, as a whole and as an individual, were at a high level. Sort by arithmetic mean from descending follows the public mind, the discipline, the sufficient, the thinking process skills and the honesty respectively.
- There were significant correlation between the transformational factors and the desirable characters of Upright School students as a whole at .01 level.
