STRATEGIC PLANNING OF ADMINISTRATOR AND SCHOOL EFFECTIVENESS UNDER THE SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 9

The purposes of this research were to determine 1) the strategic planning of administrator under The Secondary Educational Service Area Office 9 2) the school effectiveness under The Secondary Educational Service Area Office 9 and 3) the relation between the strategic planning of administrator and school effectiveness under The Secondary Educational Service Area Office 9. The samples were 51 secondary schools under The Secondary Educational Service Area Office 9. The 4 respondents in each school were; a director, a deputy director or a representative and two teachers, total of 204 respondents. The research instrument was a questionnaire about strategic planning based on Glickman, Gordon and Ross-Gordon’s concept and school effectiveness based on Kreitner and Kinicki’s concept. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation and Pearson’s product-moment correlation coefficient.
The research findings revealed that:
- The strategic planning of administrator under The Secondary Educational Service Area Office 9 as a whole and in every aspect were at a high level. As ranking by arithmetic mean from the highest to the lowest were; Identify the organization’s vision, Design action plans, Formulate policies, Identify the organization’s mission, State objectives, Identify common beliefs, Conduct internal analysis, Develop and analysis alternative strategies and Conduct external analysis.
- The school effectiveness under The Secondary Educational Service Area Office 9 as a whole and in every aspect were at a high level. As ranking by arithmetic mean from the highest to the lowest were; Resource acquisition, Goal accomplishment, Strategic constituencies satisfaction and Internal process.
- The relation between the strategic planning of administrator and school effectiveness under The Secondary Educational Service Area Office 9 was associated with statistically significant at the 0.01 level.
