GUIDELINES FOR DEVELOPING SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION TO PROMOTE TEACHERS’ ACQUISITION AND ADVANCEMENT OF ACADEMIC STANDING IN SCHOOLS UNDER THE SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE PATHUM THANI

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) examine the current and desirable states of school management for promoting teacher academic standing and promotion in schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Pathum Thani, and 2) propose development guidelines for such management. This study employed a mixed-methods research design. The informants consisted of 123 Head of Department and 5 experts. Research instruments included questionnaires and interview forms. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, PNI modified index, and content analysis.

The research findings were as follows: 1) The overall current state of school administration to promote teachers’ acquisition and advancement of academic standing was at a high level, while the desirable state was at the highest level. Regarding the priority needs for developing administrative guidelines to promote teachers’ acquisition and advancement of academic standing, the top three priorities were: (1) organizing, (2) leading, and (3) coordinating. 2) Development Guidelines: The guidelines for developing school management to promote teacher academic standing focused on the three highest-priority dimensions: (1) Organizing, (2) Leading, (3) Coordinating.
