GUIDELINES FOR DEVELOPMENT OF TEACHING AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES IN BUDDHISM IN THAILAND 4.0 FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS, YANNAWA DISTRICT, BANGKOK

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the state of teaching and learning activities of Buddhism in secondary schools, 2) to propose guidelines for the development of teaching and learning activities of Buddhism in Thailand 4.0 in secondary schools in Yannawa district of Bangkok. Mixed methods research was used in the study. The quantitative data were collected by questionnaire from 345 samples. The qualitative data were collected by in-depth interviews with 5 experts. The data were analyzed by mean, standard deviation and content analysis. The research results were found that 1) the state of teaching and learning activities of Buddhism in secondary schools was at a high level in overall. In descending order, the highest was on learning activities, followed by media, learning processes, measurement and evaluation, and curriculum, respectively. 2) The guidelines for the development of teaching and learning activities of Buddhism in Thailand 4.0 in secondary schools in Yannawa district of Bangkok were that curriculum development for learners to acquire analytical thinking skills, planning and problem solving systematically. The curriculum and learning process can be adjusted according to situations and conditions of learners. The application of e-Learning may be implemented. The learners’ parents and community should be allowed to participate and share in teaching and learning activities.
