THE DEVELOPMENT OF RAJASITHARM TECHICAL COLLEGE, VOCATIONAL COMMUNICATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKING SKILLS THROUGH A ROLE-PLAY ACTIVITY PACKAGE

Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to develop Rajasitharam Technical College, Vocational communicative English speaking skills through a role-play activity package for 2nd year vocational students to meet the set efficiency standard at 75/75; and 2) to compare students’ English learning achievement and their satisfaction between the learning package and the normal class instruction. This study was the quasi-experimental research. The population and the sample of this research were 47 students who studied 2nd year vocational certificate at Rajasitharam Technical College Tools for this research were: 1) lesson plans; 2) Rajasitharam Technical College, Vocational communicative English speaking skills through a role-play activity package; 3) an achievement test; and 4) students’ satisfaction toward learning package questionnaire. Statistics used for this study were percentage, average, standard deviation, and t-test (pair sample test). The findings revealed that the effectiveness and the efficiency of the communicative English speaking skills through a role play activities package for 2nd year vocational students was at (E1/E2) = 80.17/86.22. The English learning achievement of the target group was considered higher than those who did not use the package as well as the satisfaction after developing the package through class which means there is a significant difference at  .01 level.
