TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADER CHARACTERISTICS OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS AFFECTING INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY ADMINISTRATION OF SCHOOLS UNDER CHONBURI PROVINCIAL ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION

Abstract

This research article aims to study 1) levels of transformational leader characteristics of school administrators under Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization; 2) levels of information and communication technology administration of schools; 3) relationship between transformational leader characteristics of school administrators and the information and communication technology administration of schools; and 4) transformational leader characteristics of school administrators affecting information and communication technology administration of schools under the Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization. The selected samples by using simple random sampling were 234 people administrators and teachers in educational institutions. The instrument used in the research was questionnaires. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The research results found as follows: 1) The level of transformational leader characteristics of school administrators in overall and in each aspect was at a high, ranking the mean scores from high to low were as follows: vision, communication skills, value of human resources, attitude, values and beliefs, risks, and proactive behavior. 2) The level of information and communication technology administration of schools in overall and in each aspect was at a high, ranking the mean scores from high to low were as follows: instruction, internal management in schools, learning process, ICT infrastructure for education and resources of learning, and cooperation of government, private sectors, and communities. 3) The relationship between transformational leader characteristics of school administrators and the information and communication technology administration of schools was a positive relationship at a high level with the statistical significance of .05. 4) The transformational leader characteristics of school administrators affecting information and communication technology administration of schools were value of human resources (X₄), vision (X₁), proactive behavior (X₅), risks (X₃), communication skills (X₂). They had concurrently 67.90% predictive power. The predictive equation could be written in form of standard scores as follow: Z¢y = 348x₄+ 288x₁ + .243x₅ +.143x₃+.092x₂
