Abstract

The main objective of this study was to develop a model for the administration of information technology in schools under the jurisdiction office of the secondary education service area 6. The study consisted of 3 stages. The first stage was to study the situation on the administration of information technology in schools under the jurisdiction office of the secondary education service area 6 by using questionnaires from a sample of 300 individuals consisting of school administrators and teachers in 30 schools. The components and administration process on information technology were studied by interviewing 9 experts on educational management, and information technology management. The second stage was to develop a model for the administration of information technology in schools under the jurisdiction office of the secondary education service area 6 and examined for its suitability and accuracy by 5 experts. The third stage was to evaluate the suitability and feasibility of applying the developed model by school administrators and teachers from 30 school sunder the jurisdiction office of the secondary education service area 6.


Results of the study were as follows.


  1. The situation on the administration of information technology in schools under the jurisdiction office of the secondary education service area 6 was found to be high performed.

  2. The model for the administration of information technology in schools under the jurisdiction office of the secondary education service area 6 consisted of 2 main components: Information technology for schools administration, and Information technology for teaching and learning process. Each component had 4 managing information aspects; 1) Planning consisted of target determination, and plan development, 2) Organizing consisted of teamwork appointment, and operation, 3) Leading consisted of motivation, and communication, and 4) Controlling consisted of setting standard, and improvement.

  3. The overall suitability and feasibility of applying the model for the administration of information technology in schools under the jurisdiction office of the secondary education service area 6 was at a high level.
