A Management Model of School Cultural Centres’ Functions In Samutprakarn Province

Abstract

The main objective of this study was to develop a management model of school cultural centres’ functions in Samutprakarn province. The study consists of 3 stages. The first stage was to study the situation on a management of school cultural centres’ functions in Samutprakarn province by using questionnaires from a sample of 70 individuals consisting of school administrators and teachers in 7 school cultural centres in Samutprakarn province. The components and process management on school cultural centres’ functions were studied by interviewing 9 experts on educational management, and cultural centres’ functions management. The second stage was to develop a management model of school cultural centres’ functions in Samutprakarn province and  examined for its suitability and accuracy by 5 experts. The third stage was to evaluate the suitability and feasibility of applying the developed model by 70 school administrators and teachers from 7 school cultural centres in Samutprakarn province.


Results of the study were as follows.


  1. The situation on a management of school cultural centres’ functions in Samutprakarn province was found to be high performed.

  2. The management model of school cultural centres’ functions in Samutprakarn province consisted of 2 main components: a research study on local cultural aspects, and the enhancement and dissemination of local cultural.Each component had 4 managing information aspects; 1) Planning consisted of a strategy determination, anda development of the operation plan, 2) Implementation consisted of an empowerment by co-operative participation, and a personnel’ competency development by virtue principle, 3) Evaluation consisted of a defining of criteria and indicators, and tools construction, 4) Improvement and development consisted of a task analysis, and an information based system development.

  3. The overall suitability and feasibility of applying the management model of school cultural centres’ functions in Samutprakarn province was at a high level.
