The Development of a Computer Learning Activity Model Based on the Constructivist Approach to Create Works with Computer Application Programs for Grade 4 Students
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aimed to 1) study the current and desirable conditions of computer learning activities; 2)develop a computer learning activity model based on the constructivist approach for creating works with computer application programs; 3) examine the results of implementing the model in terms of efficiency, effectiveness index, learning achievement, work creation with computer application programs, and student satisfaction; and 4) evaluate and validate the model by experts. The Research and Development (R&D) methodology was applied in four phases. The sample group consisted of 35 Grade 4 students in the second semester of academic year 2025, selected through cluster random sampling. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, E1/E2 efficiency, effectiveness index (E.I.), and t-test. The findings revealed that 1) the current condition was at a low level while the desirable condition was at the highest level; 2) the developed model consists of five components and a five-step process including Choice & Engagement, Design & Planning, Hands-on Construction, Reflection & Sharing, and Connection & Application, with the overall appropriateness at the highest level; 3) the efficiency of the model was 82.74/83.69, which was higher than the 80/80 criterion, the effectiveness index was 0.7396, the posttest scores of learning achievement and computer application work creation were significantly higher than the pretest scores at the .05 level, and student satisfaction was at the highest level; and 4) the experts evaluated and validated the overall appropriateness of the model at the highest level.
