A Study of Mathematical Competencies of Grade 11 Students through Learning Activities based on Mathematical Modelling with Open Approach
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objectives of this research were to 1) study the Mathematical Competency of students taught through Mathematical Modeling with Open Approach, and 2) examine students’ satisfaction toward these activities. This study aims to confirm that this approach is effective for Grade 11 students due to curriculum continuity. The sample consisted of 24 Grade 11 students from Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Ubon Ratchathani (Semester 2, Academic Year 2025), selected via cluster random sampling. Instruments included 12 learning activities, field record, and a satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The results showed that 1) students’ Mathematical Competency demonstrated a concrete upward trend, reaching the Above Expectations level with a peak frequency of 70.83% across 6 activities, and 2) students’ satisfaction was at the Strongly Agree level ( = 4.83, S.D.= 0.32).
