Abstract
The purpose of this research was: 1) to find the state and requirement of people in Nakhon Phanom Province in establishing the Nakhon Phanom University Demonstration School, 2) to compare different sample groups state and requirement in establishing the demonstration school The research was used the Multi - Stage Random Sampling Technique in order to collect samples from 388 people from 6 different districts in Nakhon Phanom Province. In addition, the instrument used was a five-rating scale questionnaire, from studying 80 variables with the discrimination value between 0.54 - 0.89 and its reliability of 0.91. The data were analyzed in terms of percentage, mean, ( ) standard deviation (S.D.) and the hypothesis was tested by using F-test.
The results were as follows:
- People from Nakhon Phanom were grouped in the category of requirement level, high to highest level. Within those levels, people from Nakhon Phanom needed to have the following requirements in order to establish the school. First, there was a demand in establishing a secondary school where students were educated in an international curriculum and that school catered lunch for the students. In the school environment management : the people needed the school ground must be divided between the playground, location for equipment for the students to play, sports field and also a modern computer room for each level of education. For school management : people from Nakhon Phanom Province needed one principal to administrate the school consisting characteristics of possessing a broad vision and was experienced in administrating the school. People also needed vice-principal for each level of education and teachers who had qualifications including a minimum of bachelor degree, had manner, get along with students, professional and could supervise students. Moreover, people needed school to collect a fund at a reasonable amount for activities and wanted to pay school tuition by installment. They required the school to provide enough books and teaching materials for students. In the state of technology, study courses and activity courses : people needed the courses to have a clear philosophy and goals for the students. Kindergarten students should not be taught through academia, but needed to be educated to develop a variety skills. On the other hand, primary education should be taught on core courses and enhance skills in science, mathematics and English. The school must be taught in both Thai and English as primary languages. State and people’s requirement in Nakhon Phanom Province in establishing Nakhon Phanom Demonstration School was categorized into three groups and compared within and between each groups in four different categories. The results was there was no significant difference at the 0.05 level. Likewise, there was no significant if we incorporated the level of education and the level of income of people from every group sample and compared them amongst each other.
- The result of state and requirement of people in Nakhon Phanom Province in the establishing of Nakhon Phanom University Demonstration School showed that there was a high level of requirement from the sample groups. Upon the result, research showed the highest requirement by the people was school management while the lowest was genera. However there was not significantly difference .
