Knowledge Management of General Buddhist Scripture Schools in Chiang Rai Province

A study of knowledge management of general Buddhist scripture schools in Chiang Rai Province intended to study the knowledge management’s conditions, to investigate the factors affecting the success of knowl¬edge management, and to find the guidelines for developing the knowledge management concept. The sampling groups included the director, administrator, teachers, and supporting staffs totally 186 persons. A series of questionnaire was a commonly used method to collectprimary data with analyzing of the frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The results showed that the knowledge management’s procedure of the general Buddhist scripture schools was in a high level in overall. The highest average mean was found in the supply of knowledge, followed by the creation of knowledge, and the lowest average mean was the storage and retrieval of data. The factors that affect the success of knowledge management were evaluated in a high level as a whole. The average means were ranked in descending order as the aspects of organizational culture, information technology, and fundamental infrastructures. Recommendations towards the knowledge management’s procedure, studying equipment should be adequately supplied for the personnel. It was necessary to cooperate with an external organization when setting a training program. An available place should be provided for collecting knowledge compilation, such as, library, bill board, pamphlet, and brochure. In terms of the recommendations towards the success of knowledge management, subordinates were supposed to give a great opportunity to express their ideas and share knowledge between the executors and the subordinates. It was an important to set the stage of knowledge sharing. The personnel should be supported and educated in using a high technology for knowledge management. The evaluation of knowledge management should be evaluated at all levels. Moreover, a financial budget should be allocated to each plan appropriately.
